- as time went on she continued to do creative things through gifts or volunteering, but art faded out of her life in college - got a severe concussion: couldn't speak, impaired memory and balance - encouraged to paint afterwards, got into abstract expressionism and found that her symptoms were disappearing Reflection: I all, I was quite impressed by the freedom Mrs. Theodora has when making her pieces. Due to her head injury, she used art as a coping mechanism and a medicine towards healing again, and in the process grew to love and develop her artistic voice. I believe this is something we all need to learn - doing art just to do it is fundamental to our journey with whatever medium or concept we work with. For me, it is easy to get caught up in deadlines or dig too deep into finding a concept that it can be hard to love what I do, but hearing Mrs. Miller speak I was quite inspired to just have more free time set aside to do art.
