Title: Art Therapist Art therapists are clinicians who work with patients challenged with medical and mental issues while utilizing the process of creating art to improve their emotional, mental, and physical state. It can be used to help treat patients with depression, anxiety, cancer, eating disorders, and much more. This occupation became formally accepted in the 1940's, when doctors noticed that individuals suffering with a mental or emotional illness would express themselves through artwork, showing that many people were using drawing as a healing mechanism. In order to go into this field, you must have a master's degree in art therapy or in counseling. (According to the American Art therapy Association) Several colleges such as Pratt Institution, Marywood University, and Eastern Virginia Medical School have majors in either art therapy itself or a field of counseling required to go into this occupation.

This week I started my digital piece for studio project number two, with the mindset of focusing on composition and concept. For composition I hope to create a foreshortening effect of the train while tying it to my main theme of movement, and for concept I wanted to tell a story of a student waiting for their bus. Although I finished the last piece, I didn't think it really fit in with the mood I had created with the other drawings. Because of this, I decided not to include it in my project. In addition to this, I changed the lettering/ font on one of my former pieces.
