Notes
ReflectionThis lecture in my opinion was very interesting on the prospect of its historical fact and the discussion of the origins surrounding the eggs. Starting in the 17th century, the Faberge company had started off making jewelry, but soon transitioned to more lavish decorative objects as it caught the attention of the imperial family. As a gift to the empress, Tsar Alexander III presented an easter egg, which soon became tradition every year. Soon coined the “Faberge egg,” these intricate golden eggs were created for higher and higher prices, and were treasured by not only Russia, but the rest of the world. I enjoyed learning the story and history behind these eggs overall, and also found it very intriguing to learn about the missing eight faberges in the world.
