In fact, the main reason I chose Maggie Walker as opposed to other schools or my home school was because of this. I believed that because I had no knowledge of what to do, it would be better to go to a school reputed for its variety and diversity of classes. After listening to this lunchtime lecture, I must admit that my opinions have not exactly changed due to my mindset, but I have learned more about the openness and flexibility of going to an art school. As said by one of the alumni, you are still allowed to and can research other careers while in art school, such as geology, which I had not recognized earlier. One thing that I thought was interesting was the fact that at VCU, they had specific areas and equipment for specific majors.
